Tiansland LD-25 is a non-aqueous solution designed to prevent odor generation, discoloration and product degradation caused by the growth of fungi, bacteria and algae. Tiansland LD-25 is for use with industrial and outdoor textiles, as well as polymers such as polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane foam, polyolefins and plastic films. Tiansland LD-25 is an effective antimicrobial treatment for emulsions including coatings, adhesives, paints and latex, both for in-can and in-use protection. Tiansland LD-25 treated materials should only be used for non-food contact applications.

Test Methods
The antifungal properties of Tiansland LD-25 may be determined using most fungal test methods, including AATCC Method 30 or ASTM G21. To test for antibacterial properties, quantitative methods such as the ISO 20743 (JIS L1902) or ISO 22196 (JIS Z 2801) may be required, depending on the level of treatment.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
The application levels given below are representative of those found necessary in practice. For each specific use, one or more trial runs are recommended in order to determine the best application level and method of addition for the particular end use. This list is only intended to give examples of the types of usages where Tiansland LD-25 has been shown to be effective. Applications rates are not to exceed the maximum values listed below for specific end uses.
End use |
Directions |
Industrial and Outdoor Textiles |
Tiansland LD-25 can be padded onto woven and nonwoven fabrics from an aqueous or solvent pad bath. The target application is 0.1-0.4% product owg. When applying by pad, the exact concentration in the application bath must be calculated based on the pick-up of the fabric i.e. 6gpl at 67% pick-up for 0.4% owg. For higher concentration applications using aqueous pad baths, the use of a surfactant may be necessary to maintain the active in solution. Agitation should be provided throughout the run. |
Polyurethane Foam, PVC and Other Polymeric Systems |
Polyurethane foams for furniture, bedding, carpet cushion automotive and marine applications etc. not subject to continuous outdoor environments can by rendered resistant to growth of microorganisms by the incorporation of Tiansland LD-25. The Tiansland LD-25 can be introduced directly into the liquid polyolprior to the polymerization process at levels typically ranging from 0.1% to 0.5% on the final foam weight. Tiansland LD-25 can be used to protect vinyl and other polymeric systems from microbial growth by addition at a rate of 0.1% to 0.5% based on the final polymer weight. Tiansland LD-25 should be added into the manufacturing process at a point that ensures uniform distribution throughout the polymer. For use in foams and polymeric systems for use in outdoor environments Tiansland LD-25 can be added by addition at a rate of 0.1% to 1.3% based on the final polymer weight. |
Textile coatings |
Polyurethane, acrylic, PVC and latex coatings/compounds may be rendered resistant to the growth of microorganisms by the incorporation of Tiansland LD-25. Tiansland LD-25 can be added directly to the liquid system prior to the drying/heating/cross linking/curing stage at dosage levels of 0.1% to 0.4% on the final weight of the coating. |
Emulsions, Paints and Adhesives |
Tiansland LD-25 may be utilised in a wide range of emulsions, paints and adhesives. Addition of Tiansland LD-25provides an effective in-can protection against bacterial and fungal degradation. For hot-melt adhesives, temperatures should not exceed 200C/392F. The use of 0.1-0.4% Tiansland LD-25can also offer protection to dried films after application of these products. |
